Anyone know which state schools are the least expensive in the country?

Go to College Board's "Big Future" site. Do a search. Check "publics", and generate a list from least expensive to most.

The common market offers in-state tuition for students accepted to specific programs in public schools in many states in the southeast - which can be less expensive than in-state rates in MD and VA. Google "academic common market."

Alabama has amazing merit aid.

Alabama's is great! Ole Miss also has a great program. If you get above specific scores on the ACT, they pay your tuition. Not sure about residency requirements. My nephew got either a 29 or a 30 and his tuition is covered.

Do you also have to have a certain GPA?
