OP, I am also surprised you didn't immediately run to the nearest Emergency Room + get this matter checked out.
Sure, you are young, but you could have been having a stroke. Make an appt. ASAP and see someone. It could be life or death. Sorry to scare you, but it really can be. Hope you are okay.

OP Here: I have been house sitting for my parents all weekend so I was by myself when this happened. I honestly did not think it was anything big. It freaked me out but I honestly didn't think it could be THAT serious as I've never had anything like this happen before and I didn't know the signs of any of the things PP's are posting. I plan on calling a couple of doctors tomorrow to see who is taking new patients and who is willing to get me in ASAP. |
I was not being snarky towards you. I was being honest to the poster who said "WHY?" My initial thought was you were having a TIA (aka "mini stroke"), by the way. I've never heard it in the stomach, but left side and numbness are what my boss had when he had a TIA. |
| why not just go to an urgent care/ER right now, OP? if it's a stroke they only have a small window when it can be possibly reversed. |
OP Here: I just had my friend bring me in. Happened again but has lasted an hour now. Thank you everyone for the suggestions. Hopefully this is nothing serious. |
Hope you are okay. Let us know how you're doing. |
| Hope you are ok, OP! |
| First symptom I experienced was a tingling sensation on my left side, which I noticed in the am, while showering. By the next day, I had suffered a stroke while driving on 395. My sincere, honest advice is check it out, don't delay. Even a so-called mini-stroke could be a problem. I still have limited feeling on my entire left side. My life has not been fun for the past year or so. |
| Hope it's benign, good luck! |
| Please post back OP and let us know how you are. |

OP Here:
Thank you everyone for the well wishes. After being in the ER from 11pm-4am, I really didn't get that much of an answer for the numbness. When I finally got to the ER, I was shaking uncontrollably and very, very dizzy and light headed. When they took my blood pressure, it was EXTREMELY high (around 158/90) which is obviously very worrisome. I didn't end up seeing a doctor until around 2am and by then, the numbness had gone away but I was still feeling very "off". He felt around my stomach and took my vitals, etc. They asked me if I've ever had an ovarian cyst, etc. (which I never have). He didn't seem to be concerned about it being a stroke but he recommended a new doctor for me to go to and get some tests down (look further into why my blood pressure is so high, etc.) so I will be going on Wednesday afternoon to get checked out some more. I'm hoping that I will get an answer as I was very worried last night when this all happened as it came on very sudden and was much worse then the night before. |
| OP, are they going to schedule you for an MRI? |
| Hope you get some answers and it's nothing serious. |
| Was the numbness in the same location as the first time? |
