How to dispose of extra fertility drugs?

I think Grubbs said they would only buy back meds that didn't require refrigeration - I guess to ensure the meds hadn't been incorrectly stored and thus made ineffective..

I was the one who mentioned this first and you are right I think. I used menopur only so it was offered.

Hi -- I'm posting from Boston where our state mandates that fertility meds are covered by insurance. Therefore, there aren't any clinics willing to take back meds since most women have their IVF drugs paid for. I have extra IVF meds and would love for someone to use them -- I have extra Menopur (3 bottles) and Ganirelix (1 syringe). I hate wasting this and am willing to mail it out in protective packaging if someone is interested (please do cover the shipping cost -- wouldn't be too much, probably a few bucks).

I have been searching RESOLVE as well as Yahoo groups for people in need and only just today ran into this thread.

I just finished my last-ever IVF cycle and can talk to people over the phone so that people will feel more comfortable with me. I'm assuming that DCUM allows PMs. I have only in the past browsed threads but have never posted.

My fertility center does not take unopened or unused fertility medications back. Where do I dispose of leftovers

I gave mine to someone like me with no fertility coverage

Did you just happen to know someone personally who needed it? I gather that there's no official, legitimate channels to do this.

It is VERY common to share unused fertility meds. I've gotten and given meds through Facebook and Reddit infertility groups. For many, the cost of meds can be the difference between between affording IVF or not.

I gave some extras to someone I knew who was doing ivf. Most places can’t take meds back and re-dispense them to others due to the inability to know if they were stored properly.

It isn’t good to flush drugs or put them down the sink. Trash is fine.

idk about the donating giving away but there at our police station there's an Rx drop box, I imagine most police stations will take them.

OP has probably figured it out in the six year since she posted

I found a lady on reddit who needed it and she happened to live 5 minutes from workplace.
