Well then thin is just not for you. |
| what are your carb, fat and protein ratios? Losing weight is all about the calories. the quality of those calories can matter too. |
Wait, what?? Are you saying she'll never be thin if she eats carbs? If so, that must be one of the silliest things I've read in a very long time. I eat tons of carbs and am underweight. |
But were you overweight? I think it makes a difference. |
| I would add 15 mins 3x a week of High Intensity cardio and another day of weights--heavy!--and up your calories to 1500. You'll see the weight drop and you'll be adding muscle |
| Plateauing is very common. People here might tell you what worked for them, and there are obviously 1000 different approaches, but when I hit my own plateau, and looked into it, it seemed that you generally needed to work harder for less reward, which is one of the reasons why many people have a hard time keeping weight off. The first 10-20 lbs, depending on where you start, is generally pretty easy to take off, but to keep it off, and to keep going down, you need to make further adjustments in diet and most important work harder, which for me was not a good solution |

Plenty of people are thin and eat carbs. I tell people that if you want to do any kind of active cardio, you need to eat carbs. Any runner (or boxer, skier, major cyclist) who tries to restrict carbs is going to hate life. If you lead a lifestyle that doesn't involve much cardio, you can probably do the carb-restrictive diets with a minimum of pain. My friends who do paleo, atkins or south beach tend to be cross-fit people and not runners, cyclists or triathletes.
I dial up the carbs as my cardio increases and dial up the protein when I'm lifting more weights. I'm a muscular, healthy size 6. I'll never be skinny-skinny (my dad is 6'3" and 250+ so heredity wise, I'm f*ked) but I've always been lean. |

OP here. I am not going on WEEK 6 of this #@&$% plateau. WEEK 6!!! I am ready to pull my hair out. Changes I've made since my original post:
I have increased my calories to 1500 a day. I have been eating Paleo for a week. I started taking spin classes. I have increased the frequency of my weight workouts. |
I try to eat in the "Zone" - 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat. |
| Green tea extract supplements helped me break a plateau last year. |
