So let's say you're getting married, but you're just too butch for a dress.

Try Indian garment stores. Flowy pants are often part of those tunic-and-pants ensembles that both men and women wear in India. There's a big Indian shopping center near Takoma Park on New Hampshire.

There is also one on Lee Hwy/George Mason Dr. in Arlington.

Don't know where to find the pants you want but you should really check out Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi's wedding photos. The two of them were quite stunning together. If you wore what Ellen did, you would be gorgeous!

If you're butch and wearing something like that, it won't look so hot as on the 110lb model. All I can think of is my grandma in her powder blue panstsuits.

Your grandma probably rocked the pantsuit.

I'm wearing pants.

I had my wedding dress made from a designer photo with no more detail than the photo you have. It can be done, and probably for a lot less than buying a traditional dress from a shop.

Good luck! Knowing what you want is way more than 1/2 the battle!

There is a store in Alexandria called Gossypia that has informal wedding dresses--don't know if they do pants but you can call and ask.

And congrats!

I'm the mama channeler. OP Mama will be disappointed but I love the offbeat bride pant suit. Very beautiful. I stand corrected. Congratulations and I'm sure you will look like a beautiful blushing bride no matter what you wear.

ok, i think pantsuit is a misnomer. it's more like a panted traditional dress. i like it better than ellen's choice.

How about JCrew?

I can't believe J. Crew was suggested. Way too preppy! PP, have you been there lately? OP's example is SO not J.Crew.

Maybe one of the several Stevie Nicks-like clothing websites can custom make these pants.

Here are two examples of websites:

It isn't about the wedding, it is about the commitment. I'm sure the guy knows she's not the poofy type type.

You can always buy an elegant silk suit in a flattering color. Or overalls, or whatever.
