OP here. Thanks for everyone's insight. I agree with PP - there seems to be marked absence of comprehensive information given out, but I'm trying to stick with them because of the lab.

When PPs have mentioned the length of time for the IUI, did that include having DH give his sample and then waiting for it to be prepared?

You schedule 2 appts - one for you and one for DH. They are an hour and a half apart. DH's lasts 5 seconds; yours is about 10 min.

We usually went in for DH's appointment and then went to the nearby starbucks or chipotle before then going back for my appt.

Now this confuses me. I was told that the IUI appointments are only made between 7 and 8:45 am (this is in the D.C. office). So does that mean DH has to go in a 7 and I have to go in at 8:30?

you should call dc confirm. but there is about an hour and a half lag between DH's appt and yours.
