If you were the mother of the Bethany Beach queen

Since I k know this thread will go on an on, and most people won't, understandably, go watch the video. My hope is that posters stop making dumb platitudes as if its just a still photo of, say, her naked breast that's online now. Big difference.

I wasn't aware there were degrees of humiliation in doing porn. So you're saying it was degrading, but all porn is degrading when it's done for money. The fact that her bleached asshole was on display is immaterial. I'm not sure why you're so fixated on that -- does a future employer tolerate seeing her spread her labia, but draw the line at an anus? What are you trying to say?

There are degrees of porn, and you don't have to be an avid consumer to know that. You need only to be an attentive reader of the the New York Times to know this. Or have gone to law school, say.

What am I trying to say? This short film is really explicit, visibly degrading, and probably only consensual in the most legal sense. It's not a wardrobe malfunction. PPs shouldn't talk about her like that's what happened.

At least she got paid. I'm sure 100s if not 1000s of high school kids in Bethesda have homemade porn on their smartphones.

If you don't know what I am talking about then Google it.

When I google "Bethany Beach Queen" I get links to hotels in Bethany Beach that offer queen sized beds in the room, and this thread. You should be more specific.

Darling, generally speaking, it isn't impressive to admit you've been living under a rock. Either you're being deliberately obtuse (which is my suspicion -- you fail) or you're downright clueless. In either case, you have no business rolling your eyes at anyone.

Google Melissa King both in images and on the web and you will get an eyeful.

I'd encourage everyone to check out this really well done radio documentary about cyber sexual shaming among teens. It was made by a very talented young woman.

I would give her a big hug. She's only a kid.

Give me a break. It was no rape. The guy was her on again, off again boy friend. He participated with the agreement that his face would not be shown.

There's a nice blog about her on the WaPo http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/she-the-people/wp/2013/02/27/dear-melissa-king-i-wish-you-the-best/ . I, too, wish her the best.

NP here. Let's hit you with a clue stick, uh, darling.

If you want to start an interesting thread, do your own legwork and post some sources.

It isn't "clueless" or "living under a rock" or "deliberately obtuse" to be unaware of what's happening in Bethany Beach if you live in DC.

Try harder next time and post a good thread...and you'll get good responses. You're welcome.

PP here. Let me see if I can explain this to you, twatwaffle: I didn't start the thread. But I'm at least aware enough about current events to understand what OP was talking about. It was national news. So, again, you're wrong to take pride in your ignorance. If you don't get what is perfectly obvious to everyone around you, that's on you, not some defect on OP's part.

And quit rolling your eyes. I'd say you appear like a petulant teenager, but I think most teens are a little more up on current events than you.

Darling.

There is a difference between soft porn and hard porn. I haven't seen this, but it sounds hard. It is not that difficult to force a teen into doing things that they did not want to do; ie go from soft to hard (no pun inteneded) I did not see the video, but this is the reason that you tell teens to watch out for certain situations -- they can get out of your control.

Just watched the video. Good news: she won't be able to make a career of it; she's terrible.....
