Lying poster here- a few examples- 1) ACORN, yes he trained for them, represented them in court, etc, 2) raised by a single mom--- um, she remarried when he was 3 and didn't divorce until he was graduating high school, 3) better kind of politics rhetoric, but what he did to Alice Palmer was old school rough and political, borderline dirty, 4) Rezko home purchase way more than boneheaded, 5) he knew Jeremiah Wright was inflammatory, that's why he didn't put him front and center in the campaign, but he feigned ignorance of his comments during the media flare up...the list goes on and on, honestly, I think he's a compulsive liar, which doesn't disqualify you from presidenting, but doesn't make me want to vote for him! |
Get over yourself. McCain is a friggin liar, or don't you hold him to your same high standards? If you did your list would be 4 times as long, at least. |
I trust McCain more than I trust Obama. McCain has been known in public life for decades, and in general, has been on the more decent side. |
None of these are lies. Whether participating in a leadership meeting is considered training is a question of semantics, but he was never an ACORN trainer to the extent most people would understand what that means (i.e being employed to conduct training). He has always said that he represented them -- along with the Dept. of Justice -- in a court case. His father left when he was two. His mother remarried when he was six. In 1972 (Barack would have been 11) she returned to Hawaii and lived away from her second husband. She got her second divorce in 1980. So, for the most part, Barack was raised by a single mother (for all but 7 years). Again, no lie. The Alice Palmer incident was not a lie. Rezko controversy didn't involve any lies. He said he was not in church when Wright made his controversial statements. That has not been contradicted. Obama never said he didn't know that Wright was controversial. So, you can't document any lies, but believe him to be a compulsive liar? |
There is no way he could have been a regular member of the church and be unaware of Wright's statements. |
Who the hell cares? I agree with many of Wright's statements (not all). |
He lies the way bill clinton lied. He dilutes the truth to the point of meaninglessness, usually to distort his personal biography, which is what he is largely running on. |
Has he ever said otherwise? As far as I know, Obama said that while he knew Wright was controversial, he was never present when the statements that got all the publicity were made. I'm sure an army of reporters has tried to disprove that, but have been unsuccessful. If you are trying to say Obama is sometimes evasive, I won't disagree. Who isn't? But, the question is whether or not he is a liar. |
To reply to the OP, I was never a Hillary supporter, but now she's looking awfully good compared to the alternatives. |
Mr. Steele, I cannot beleive that you waste your time responding to these. Every politician tweaks the truth - remember HRC's "sniper fire" fairy tale. The "lying" poster has made up her mind and just wants to find a way to justify it without being totally honest to her/him self |
Yes, I think you are correct both that I wasted my time and that the poster is seeking a justification for an already made decision. |
Hmmmm....running on one's personal biography.....That sounds vaguely familiar. You mean like John McCain avoiding difficult questions by pointing out that he was a prisoner of war? George H.W. Bush never went on about being shot down in W.W.II. I don't remember Bob Dole going on and on about his painful war injuries. The person who is truly running on his personal biography is John McCain. |
Yeah, too bad Obama didn't dump his first wife for a richer, blonder trophy wife the way McCain did. That was soooooo decent. Ooops, I forgot, Obama is still married to his first wife! |
