| I enjoy an occasional breakfast for dinner too. And my kids are always begging for scrambled eggs for dinner -- I probably make it for them twice a month. |
| Pancakes are a special dinner treat here (although the first time, my kid with aspergers complained that it was just all wrong. A side of syrup quickly changed her mind). Scrambled eggs, though, are so good (protein my kids will eat without a fight!) that we have it for dinner more often than breakfast. |
| Breakfast for dinner is a time-honored tradition in our house. I find it works particularly well on those evenings when you've been running around all afternoon and need to get something on the table in a flash. |
| did it tonight...pancakes and scrambled eggs. everybody happy and when i arrived home at 6, that was the best option. i, on the other hand, was thrilled that my veggie stew in the crockpot was ready. too bad my girls totally rejected that... |
| Did it tonight too! Thanks for the inspiration |
| Friday night is pancake night for the kids and take out night for myself and dh. It gives me a deserved break from cooking the rest of the week. |
| Quiche is an acceptable dinner food, and it has eggs and crust (i.e. a bread-like component). Scrambled eggs and toast = eggs + a bread component. Pancakes, etc. as an occasional dinner treat seems perfectly fine to me. Now I want some!! |
| We're having blueberry pancakes for dinner tonight (well, I'm having a salad, but they're having blueberry pancakes, and that's only b/c I'm not in the mood). Do it! |

What else would you serve for dinner on upside down days?
Really- we do this about once every 4-5 weeks. Breakfast for dinner and "dinner" for breakfast. It is usually something like pizza for breakfast, but it is a fun change from the norm. We usually eat very well-balanced meals so it makes it extra fun to throw out the rules sometimes. |
| DH is going out of town for business for two nights this week, so I'm already planning breakfast for dinner (pancakes, sausage, fruit) for at least one of those nights. Both kids will eat it and I have less to prepare and clean up! |
You can do eggs in a variety of ways (scrambled, fried, etc), pancakes, waffles, toast, omelettes, breakfast casseroles... pretty much anything you'd like. We typically do pancakes and eggs (and sometimes bacon). |

OP, I think it is OK, but you should call it "supper" not "dinner".
Also, I would lean towards only having "breakfast for dinner (supper)" once a week. Otherwise it is't really special any more. But you can have crepes any time, which are basically pancakes; instead of scrambled eggs see if the kids like quiche, or serve quiche for the grownups with scrambled egg for the kids. And I might serve the PB and J sandwiches with some kind of soup or salad to make it more of a supper meal, not a lunchy snack. But that's just me. |
