| I’m 38 and I’ve been on Wellbutrin for about 9 months. Normal periods. I’m not on any birth control. |
|
My periods started doing that in perimenopause in my late 40s, but then it went back to normal. Still no menopause at 52.
It’s age, not Wellbutrin. |
| I am on wellbutrin for the second time. Just like the first, I am experiencing freak symptoms related to my menstrual cycle. Periods are further apart, bleeding is so heavy that I go through super tampons every hour. I have intense back pain and cramping. Prior to period actually starting, I have a build up of bloating and heavy gross feelings in my abdomen. I am so sick and exhausted feeling from the female related symptoms that it doesn't matter that wellbutrin gives me energy. I don't feel well enough to take advantage of it. My first time on wellbutrin my symptoms got so bad that I was almost positive that I had a more serious issue going on. Once I got off wellbutrin my symptoms slowly disappeared and I felt normal again. I just got on it again for my seasonal depression and already have the side effects listed above. This verifies that it really is the drug that caused my problems. Peace out wellbutrin, you are NOT for me. |
| I have a kyleena iud for last two years which has helped my periods immensely. More recently I started spotting and to eventually now I’ve been on my period over a month. Only thing I changed while this happened is starting Wellbutrin and then getting it increase to 300. I think wellbutrin is the culprit |

This happened to me once after I took excedrin for a menstrual migraine. Best I can tell it was the Aspirin. It also can be age-related. My periods have gotten heavy in my 40s. But excedrin day was on another level. I did go to ER to get checked out, and all was fine.
No problems with Wellbutrin though. |
| I would say maybe due to Wellbutrin upping testosterone 🤷🏻♀️ Idk but I’m experiencing the same thing. |
Menstrual changes are a listed side effect of this medication. |
