See marks daily apple: the primal people explain it much better than I can.

Besides quinoa looks like worms are in it. I've been hungry enough to eat wormy food. Never again.

Source is a blogger who sells supplements, posted by someone who views food through the eyes of an 11 year old tween who can't even articulate her concept of the nutritional composition of quinoa.

I'm the poster who asked for the citation...Sorry, but Mark's Daily Apple us not a citation. I'm not knocking him or his theory or his website, but his "opinion" doesn't sway me when it comes to quinoa. Quinoa is an "ancient" food, if you will, consumed by indigenous cultures in South America who have been living the "hunter/gatherer" way of life that Nark's Daily Apple advocates. It's high in protein, vitamins, omegas, etc

How is Quinoa considered high in protein? it has 8g/serving and 222cal/serving. compare that to any lean meat source and you are looking at 1/3 the protein and almost double the calories.

yes it has more protein than other grains, but I would not consider it a high protein food.

I'm the PP and a vegetarian so yeah, it's high protein for me because I don't eat meat or soy.
