Did they do a blood test for excess of a hormone called prolactin? I had this starting at about 18 and never got a period between the ages of 18 through my early twenties Sometimes (but not always) it can be caused by a small tumor on your pituitary gland so you should have that checked out.
In my case, I didn't have the tumor but I did eventually want to be able to get pregnant so I saw and endocrinologist and took medication. After I had my first child my system got back into whack and everything has been normal since. |
| A year in high school when I was undereating. It's been somewhat irregular depending on the intensity of the sport I was playing, but as long as I wasn't doing daily double workouts, no problems. |

35 days and I was stressed the hell out. My cycle is every 26-29 days without BCP and every 28 days with BCP.
I would ask your mom and any sisters what is normal for them and any problems that run in the family. In my case, fibroids are the big issue and my mom and grandmom had hysterectomies in their 40s. They were also very regular like me and got their cycles back 6-8 weeks post birth, as I did (even with EBF). When I was pregnant, the midwife found a very small fibroid for me. |

OP here. I am on a 28 day BCP cycle.
I did just get my period but it has been months. I have Hashimoto's but am a little concerned something else may be up (PCOS? Early menopause?) because of my irregular period. My hormones are fluctuating- it feels like puberty. |

I have Hashi's too. What b.c are you using. I used to be on Yazmin and got it monthly. Also got it monthly when not on b.c. After reading all the problems with Yazmin switched too a generic form of lo-estrin or whatever it's called. Now I get a period every few months.
Are you underweight and/or exercising a lot? |
| Approaching 4 years. Pregnant, breastfeeding, pregnant, breastfeeding. Youngest is 13 months old. I'm terrified for when it finally returns! |
| I go 3-6 months without my period. I conceived my second kid in jan oflast year, bbefore that I had not seen my period since september. But I have PCOS. |
I am NOT underweight- I have gained weight from the Hashi's. I do exercise a ton though. Also used to be on Yazmin and had my period monthly. Now switched off to a different 28 day pill- and my period is very light (mostly spotting) when I do get it. |
| A year in law school. |
| I also have hashi's, am overweight by about 30 lbs, and am on 28 day BC. I get period every 2-3 months and when I do it's for a day or 2 max and use light tampons. I was thinking about going back to Seasonique (I used pre baby and before getting diagnosed) but now that my 28 day is free and I rarely get my period, I figured it wasn't worth it. My GYN and Endo both say its fine and normal. I am 31. |
