Yeah, also - $10 a year? Even if you're using Suave, you can't convince me that your shampoo alone doesn't cost more than that. |

Color twice a month = $110/ mo =$1320/year
Pantene and Beauty supply conditioner = $100/year Cut every three months $75 per cut = $300/ year Wow. |
Holy shit, color every 2 weeks? How do you even have time for that? |
| Yep, every two weeks. First it was once a month then every three weeks now two. Holy shit is right! Luckily my hairdresser is wonderful and basically fits me in whenever I have the time and charges me less (because I go so often) than hair cuttery and they use kerastase products and shine gloss for no exta charge. I just color and walk out with wet hair. It's on the way to my kids school so I do it on the way before picking him up. I'm Latina and I have long hair too. We are culturally vain when it comes to hair. I am old as heck too but I have a young husband and son so letting it go gray is not an option. Even though my husband says he doesn't care if I'm gray I go nuts when I see the gray roots. But, my hair also grows super fast. I did stop the highlights now that is a real PIA! |

Getting over myself (?) doesn't really solve the problem so thanks for your non answer. Even my mil's advice of blaming a 'sensitive scalp' after delivering a baby in a few months was better than that.
As for 10 not being realistic, I can tell you I bought Costco bottles of shampoo and conditioner over a year ago and still have a couple inches left. How much are those? That's how much I've spent on my hair in a year. Sorry my hair is so much more awesome than yours. |
You need to shower and wash your hair more often. I have relatively short hair and those bottles last about 5 months. Either that or you are a dude. |

Haircut every couple of months or so (maybe longer) I have long hair--$50
Highlights twice per year ($110 or so per visit plus tip) Shampoo/conditioner (generally use pantene) so that will be $10 every few months (I only wash every 3 days so these products last a while) Hair product $25 that will last several months (6+mo or so because of the washing every 3 days) Not to mention the $100 worth of fredric fekai, b+b, phytomer products I already have just sitting in my bathroom from lack of use. -------------This all averages to about $40 per month Now facial products: $30 on face wash (Clarins), $60 face cream, $30 eye cream, $35 spf lotion $28 other face lotion. That is where I am more high maintenance (want to take care of my skin). ------------------this may average to $50/month yikes---when I really look at the math/budget it is alarming...I guess I am more high maintenance than previously thought?! |

Y'all spend a lot!
I get my hair cut every six weeks. I have a layered bob. Cut and Blow dry is about $30. I color at home every 5 weeks. Preference by Loreal. About $8 a box. |
| Wash mine twice a week and don't go through a bottle a year, either. I lather up only once though as I don't have oily hair. Haircuts are $30 every couple months. |
where are you getting a $30 haircut? |
| $80/month is the average. Includes products, trims, styling, and color. |
| I am lucky enough to not have to color or process my hair, which leaves me to my $65+$10 cuts every 3 months and maybe $10-$15 in shampoo every 3 months (I really have no idea how often I replace shampoo, plus my husband and I use the same ones). |
Seriously? Are you that much of a giant snob? She's probably getting her hair cut at a mall place or somewhere local out in the far suburbs. There are plenty of good ones. Not everyone charges $90/cut like your fancy Georgetown salon. |
Oh good god, nobody asked for a detailed break down of everything you use. |
|
color/roots every 4-5 weeks: $50
cut every three months: $50 highlights 1-2 a year: $90 products: not much, drugstore shampoo/condition/one bottle of "product" lasts months for me |
