It means even seniors and juniors over 21 can't have alcohol on campus.

I hear the pencil against the paper as CNU is crossed off the list.

This isn't unique to any particular school--I think this is how a ot of young people act.

Yes, I said as much at the end of my post.

What is this school well known for?

No idea, is this a 4 year university?

Really? You must be pretty unfamiliar with the current state of higher ed in Virginia. CNU is small; probably the smallest state school in VA. CNU makes Princeton Review's "The Best 377 Best Colleges." Other schools like VCU, VMI, and Old Dominion did not. Also according to Princeton Review, students enrolling at CNU have higher SATs than those at James Madison and George Mason.

I think of CNU as the Virginia version of St. Mary's College of Maryland. Small, and not that well known, but increasingly selective and geared towards students who don't want/need a big party scene.

We toured it and thought it was nice. Amazing dorms. Very friendly students. The biggest negative was that it wasn't clear whether Newport News was really a good place from which to try and secure jobs after graduation. DS decided to go to a larger university in another state, but our overall impression was favorable.

Yea, I don't think list is dispositive of anything. There are several colleges/universities listed that I couldn't tell you a thing about--I'll bet many of the readers to this forum would say the same thing. Plus, I hire about 5-10 employees per year, but mainly with engineering/science backgrounds--maybe this isn't their strength.

Christopher Newport is a liberal arts school. I guess you don't hire many people from Williams, either and I bet you never heard of that one either.

I thought we were going to try to quarantine all the meanies in the Private School forum. Can you go back there, please?

Well, I apologize if you are not the poster who has previously expressed disdain for the liberal arts in this forum. There was another poster on here who claimed to be hiring the same 5-10 people per year and dismissing the value of a liberal arts education.

That's me you're apologizing too. I have never posted on DCUM about hiring 5-10 people, for IT or anything else. I'm just sick of jerks, and your snark about Williams registered on the jerk meter.

Let's look at the facts:

Yea, I don't think list is dispositive of anything.
[Dismissing objective evidence]

There are several colleges/universities listed that I couldn't tell you a thing about
[lack of knowledge becomes proof of expertise]

I'll bet many of the readers to this forum would say the same thing.
[bandwagoning fallacy, but without a bandwagon]

Plus, I hire about 5-10 employees per year, but mainly with engineering/science backgrounds--maybe this isn't their strength. [hmm, it's a liberal school, maybe not.]

And I have a history of bashing liberal arts education on DCUM

But YOU are the one who is a mean, snarky, jerk and I am tired of it.

Ya, we see how it is.
