Best Exercises to Build Muscle in my Lower body

Anonymous
I hated wearing jeans because they never fit or looked right. I since have discovered that there's a ton of exercises that focuses specifically on your butt and thighs. I'm not a gym person, never have been, so I usually use workout DVD's. When I'm targeting my butt & thighs I use the Brazil Butt Lift Master Series. This will definitely help tone your thighs and help you achieve your goals. My butt and thighs are much more athletic looking and not flabby. My jeans are fitting better and I feel so much more confident wearing shorts.

Squats, Split Squats, Lungers, Step-Ups -- These are all really great for working out your lower body.

Insanity. Seriously this will destroy your legs in a good way. Never have I had a better lower body work out.

At the gym, I would suggest squats and lunges using the smith weight bench. Also the stair climber.

For PP who said that only heavy weights will build muscle, that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I do yoga. Yoga only. No weights, no cardio. I do intense 6 days a week. I have extremely defined muscles all over. Not big of course (who wants big anyway?) but very defined -- abs and lower body. Yes, I am "advanced" in yoga, but anyone can build muscle without lifting weights. Yoga, pilates, etc.

unless you've got tons of extra testosterone, i seriously doubt you built serious muscle through yoga. you are likely just blessed genetically and have an excellent diet.

You are so misguided. Have you ever done an advanced yoga pose? You are sometimes holding/balancing your entire body weight with one set of muscles. So, I weigh 115 pounds. Same results in terms of muscle development if I squatted 115. I'm not talking about gentle yoga where you spend half the time lying in savasana. Yes, I have good genetics and have an excellent diet. But I always had these and never had the muscle development I do since starting a challenging yoga practice (and I always exercised in some form).
