What are you getting your 15yo son for the holidays?

It brings me to my knees how much $$ is being spent on one kid these days. This used to be the way rock stars and movies stars lavished their kids on the road to ruin. I really believe we may be witnessing the downfall of the American Empire. Our kids are being treated like little emperors. All the riches of the land lavished on each one. It's pretty insane.

-You are buying a 15 year old Dre Headphones now--what will you buy him when he graduates from high school?

-Are you buying all this with credit?

-Are you willing to have the kid stabbed to death when someone tries to rip them off his head on the way to the subway?

-Do you realize that you are contributing to the crass commercialism of the culture? Do you buy your kids books? Do they play a classical instrument? Do they go to live theatre/plays or concerts?
