Why do we have 8 kids? It's simple really. My husband impregnanted me 8 times and the outcome of 8 pregnancies are 8 children.

Thanks for the Elmo-level answer, OP.

I'm not the OP, but was the child in a large family. It was a great experience and to this day, I feel like I know more about sharing, teamwork, and looking for the common good than my peers. I didn't have a lot of kids because that was just my choice, but why would I judge someone who chose differently?

OP, my question is: do you have some kind of system to have one-on-one time with each child? My parents found that the biggest challenge.

I'm just wondering why any woman would choose to undergo multiple pregnancies. Knowing what it does to one's body, it seems like an unnecessary hardship. I mean, I can understand huge families in the past, what with infant mortality, but I don't get it in this day and age.

I think the poster meant why did you chose to have 8 children.

Well she should have said so we never really sat down and said we wanted 8 kids. We decided that we would stop when we were ready. 8 children later we are finally ready!

She sounds simple minded, ladies. Maybe that's why she has eight kids.

To each their own.

What does being simple minded have to do with having 8 kids? My first reply to her was more or less of a joke. Lighten up

Don't forget farming families and "city folks" who sent their kids off to work in factories.

I don't get it either, to be honest. Who wants to be a slave to a house filled with diapers and chaos?

She's probably lost all feeling "down there," however!

Ready for what? To start using birth control like rational people?

I've been using birth control. The only time I don't is when we felt like it was time for another baby. There is nothing irrational about having 8 children unless you can't afford it or handle it.

Did you not know about modern birth control? You must feel like a brood mare. My OB said that it takesa woman's body two years to recover from pregnan y and childbirth. How far apart in years are they because you must be exhausted.

I know about modern birth control, thank you. Our children's ages range from 2-17.

These angry answers are the result of feminism. Keep on taking your poisonous BC pills ladies. I hope it makes you feel sophiscated.

OP I don't have any questions. But I think its great that you have a large family. I hate pregnancy so its not for me. But if pregnancy wasn't so harsh for me, I would have a kid every other year.

The outcome of 8 pregnancies IS 8 children.

And, we're just getting started.

You want some measles to go with that birth control?

We don't have a system but we make it work. I've come to realize that even a trip to the grocery store with 1 can be bonding time. Though that's not ideal bonding time lol. We just set aside time based off of who needs it most right now. For example, our 15 year old needs more time right now to be able to talk and be open with us while our little kids would rather have their siblings join us. With that being said, we still make sure to give every one their one on one time.
