| Dear gods: go from scratch and avoid all the crap. It really isn't difficult, people...Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla and melted chocolate if you want, add flour and baking powder and milk alternately. Pour into greased and floured pan and bake. |
| For all of you that alter the box ingredients, do you also modify the cooking time or temperature? |
Wait, if I remember my Brady Bunch correctly, home made cakes from scratch have a tendancy to fall flat if someone makes a noise or slams a door. Too much risk in my opinion
|
Not true. (Do you have actual personal experience with this?) |
No, lol. But I do remember my mom having cakes fall when I was a kid in the 70s
Don't you remember Alice peeking into the oven, and almost in tears when her cake fell yet again? Those darn Brady kids! |
| The cake falls if you open the oven, not so much if you stomp, but it's a nice way to get half an hours peace..... |
| I've never had a cake fall when opening the oven. That would only hypothetically happen if you are SUPER impatient and open it 1/4 of the way into the cooking time. |
