We had them every year at our IT firm.

Back office type firm, or customer facing?

Government contracting

Again, do you see customers in your job?

It's a mix of both. Clients come in and contractors go out. The building also hosts a costume contest for all of the offices and companies in the building. They give away a pretty nice gift for the best costume, iPad last year.

We did too in our software company. The Xmas party everyone got high! The president of the company would give people a hard time if you didn't smoke. LOL! Crazy. I never did but the parties were hilarious.

I work in the energy industry and we have a costume contest every year (most people do not dress up but everyone gathers together for snacks and enjoys goofing off for a few minutes, and 'rating' the costumes of those who do dress up) & we also welcome the employees' children for a TOT every year on Halloween.

+1 I always do a double take when I see adults on the Metro on Halloween morning in costume and wonder why on earth anyone would dress up to go to work.

I thought that this costume is very good for a legal/professional office:

You could progressively add birds and bloody makeup as the day wears on and pretend that nothing is going on.
