I guess when you are out of arguments you can pick on grammer errors and spread right wing lies. Yes, like presidents before him, Obama sends form letters to the families of those soldiers who are killed. However, he signs each letter personally. I've started two threads today. One is critical of Obama and one is critical of Romney. Shockingly, I was not accused of "faux outrage" in the one about Obama. You on the other hand, compared a Navy SEAL to Big Bird. I wonder which of us is the most partisan? |
The autopen thing is wrong. It is a claim that the White House corrected some time ago. Yet you still are pushing it. Maybe you need some better sources of information. |
Really, the auto-pen thing is wrong? Gosh are just a fountain of resources. And actually, I just pointed it out, "pushing" is the weak attempt to stir up some faux outrage over Romney's mentioning that he happened to meet the fallen. He was asked to stop and he gladly obliged. It's such a nonstory yet not he's apparently got no core. |
Sources? You makes these claims that he basically fat fingers every letter and the previous Administration sent an email of condolence all because your told so, yet why is it that families of the fallen have produced exact duplicates. You know, like Ms. Doherty spoke out about. So she has a grievence then, huh. Oh and your previous critique of Obama was nearly as biting, personal or critical. "Which says a lot about you." |
Actually Jeff, our "critical of Obama" thread is actually a critical of posters on DCUM. You said the Obama administration threw Muslims under the bus then went on to talk about others. You didn't talk about Obama at all. You didn't mention his quote about calling this a bump in the road. You didn't talk about how multiple people he spoke directly with (Clinton, Cutler, etc) told lies that he was ok with-- and has yet to correct. You weren't critical of him trotting off to Las Vegas the day after the attack for a campaign event.
In all actuality you weren't critical of Obama at all. This is hat makes me think that you have very selective criticism and a pretty bad case of Romney Dereanged Syndrome. |
Really, you are determining fact based on the number of people who repeat the same story. The White House has said that Obama signed each letter, and I do not believe that anyone has proven otherwise. Veterans for Strong America said they were hiring a handwriting expert to review the signatures on Sept 1. Well, what were the results??? It's been over a month now. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/08/white-house-disputes-charge-president-uses-auto-pen-for-letters-to-lost-soldiers-grieving-families/ |
Wasn't |
You joined this conversation by comparing a former Navy SEAL to a cartoon bird. You have not backed down from that comparison one inch. All you are doing is trying to change the subject. You may not think my criticism of Obama is strong enough, but I am sure that it is a far stronger than any criticism you have made of Romney. Here is what Romney did: He looked at polls showing that voters believe he lacks empathy. He learned that he once met a former Navy SEAL who was killed in Benghazi. He then reminisced about that meeting as if it has been a meaningful experience and broke down with emotion. Empathy + implicit criticism of Obama = win for Romney. Except, that it was all fake. The meeting with the SEAL wasn't meaningful. The emotion is obviously false. It is just another case of Romney saying or doing anything to get elected. I think exploiting the death of the SEAL in this manner is disgraceful. You think it is like using Big Bird in a commercial. We disagree. If you want to wed yourself to Romney so strongly that you have to put yourself in this position, that is obviously your choice. But, it is clearly not me who is suffering from derangement (or "dereangement" as you might put it since you put such an important emphasis on spelling). |
I did, but you're debating two of us buddy. And no one is paying attention to this, they're more interested in the implosions that are Libya, the Obama campaign, and soon to be Joe Biden's debating skills. |
Well, Jeff, a few of the PPs here are about as coherent as the president was last Wednesday night. Sadly, I think some folks are so blinded about the president - e.g., "centralized socialism" - I mean, come on, seriously? - that they can't grasp how demeaning it is to compare Doherty to Big Bird. The Doherty story reminded me of Pat Tillman and how Bush Cheney Rove manipulated the facts of his death until the Tillman family finally called them out.
FWIW, I concluded that Romney lacks core principles when I read about his Senate bid. A Mormon woman, who happens to be pro-choice, attended a ward event in the early stages of the campaign. She was excited about his choice position and asked him about. He replied something to the effect that "Salt Lake gave me the okay." When she explained her position, he basically indicated that she was not his kind of Mormon. One thing I can't shake about Romney is the prep school incident where he held down a fellow classmate, presumed to be gay, while others cut his hair. I find the bullying and gay-bashing so harrowing. Even my husband, who doesn't really get swept up in this stuff, was shaken by the story. |
