Infinite Tides - Christian Kiefer
An interesting story about a NASA astronaut who has to return to earth in every sense.

I'm reading Broken Harbor by Tana French right now and it's excellent.

dude....I just read Gone Girl and that story was f'd up. I read it quickly because I wanted to know what was going to happen, but boy did it leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Is it scary? Creepy? I am two chapters in and can't get a good feel for if I am intrigued yet or not. If it's scary, I don't think I want to keep reading...

It's not super scary. It is suspenseful with surprising twists.

Birds of Paradise -- great book. Dysfunctional family dynamics set in modern-day Miami.

The Lotus Eaters -- Tatjana Soli

Orphan Master's Son -- I forget the author, but I really enjoyed it

I still say we need a DCUM GoodReads

I liked Birds of Paradise, too.
Have not liked the Laura Lipmann books I have read.

Other good ones:
Family History (Dani Shapiro)
Little Bee
Little Giant of Aberdeen
The Condtion (Haigh)
Mrs. Kimble (Haigh)
A Fine Balance
Olive Kitterige
Snow Child
Books by Douglas Kennedy
The Playdate (Millar)
The Other Mother (Millar)
I heard the "Art of Hearing Heartbeats" was great.

If you like Young Adult (think Hunger Games), I just read a new thriller NERVE by Jeanne Ryan. It was a great, quick read and realistic in the sense that we already have reality shows where people eat bugs or such on a "dare". Anyway, I really enjoyed it!

I recently enjoyed Rules of Civility and The Paris Wife.

Gillian Flynn's writing gets into your head, but like PP said, not super scary. She also wrote Sharp Objects & Dark Places. I recommend both.
