Never understood why women pluck eyebrows

OP, easy thing to say when you are not furry. I pluck and wax because without doing so, I would have A) a monobrow, B) stray hairs down to my eyelashes, and C) stray hairs up to my hairline and temples

Nicely shaped brows instantly brightens up the face. The cheapest and quickest facelift you can get

OP seriously, send in a pic of your eyebrows in their state of nature and we can tell you how much more or less eyebrow we've got going on. You know different people have different amounts of facial hair, right?

In that same vein, OP, I wax my 'stache. Because I like, have one. and it's visible. Very visible. Is that okay or do you prefer I leave that natural too?

Just trying to get a handle on what waxing is okay with you and what's not.

Pretty much what everyone else is saying. Some people do over do it, but I just pluck/wax to clean up my eyebrows. I think it makes people look more groomed.

This. I have honestly let myself really go to shit since having two babies in 3 years, but I have NOT ONCE missed an eyebrow waxing appointment. I may not shave my legs as often as I should, and I occasionally forget to wear deodorant, but by God I get my eyebrows done every 4 weeks like clockwork.

Everyone has an ethnicity. Shave everyone's eyebrows off and most would still look like a member of their ethnicity.

This is why I pluck. Total Burt monobrow if not. I do not like overplucked eyebrows. I also do not like waxed eyebrows because they tend to look like tadpoles. I like a defined arch and no monobrow.

I'm a guy so I don't pluck but it's fun to watch them head bobbers when I'm at Tysons.

I get why women shape their eyebrows. What I do not understand is why some women totally shave them off/pluck them out and they draw them on. It looks scary.

I hate the overplucked, thin, or comma or sperm shaped brows. That's just bad plucking/waxing.

But I pluck a few random strays I have. Do you wear eye makeup? One wants to apply makeup to skin, not hair. If you don't wear makeup, you can get away with more hair.

When I see bad brows (unplucked or overplucked) all I can do is stare at people and edit their appearance in my mind. It's the one thing that makes me crazy: bad brows.

Plucking and eye brow maintainence should not be getting in the way of exercise time??? What?

I duck out at work about every 8-10 weeks and get them waxed, doesn't take long. I spend a few minutes in between visits plucking them. I just feel more put together when they are cleaned up.

I don't do manis or pedis though. I may get a pedi once a year if that. I don't see the point.

OP, no idea. I'm a 47 year old woman who doesn't pluck.

I overplucked and now can't get them to grow back. it sucks!

It just looks neater and more well groomed to have nicely shaped brows, don't you think?

This would totally be me if I didn't wax and pluck! I thought that I was the only one with this problem. Now I see from PP that maybe it's because I'm Scottish! It's $50 a month that's well worth it!

I have two friends, one of whom is model gorgeous except for her brows. I just want to pull out my tweezers whenever I see them.
