Takoma again. I'm not as old as Clint, but if plunked on a podium, realizing that the words were not flowing as I had expected, I would get pretty flustered. So I sympathize with him, but I don't see how Noonan managed to be so positive about a performance I found so painful.

Not my idea of "totally cool" but glad you think so, since he's the Democrats' choice for vice-president and will be expressing the views of his party before various groups. The comment that "82 year old white men are all the GOP has left" makes no more sense than saying that 62 year old white men are all the Democrats have left.

I don't know how old you are, but I've found myself really appreciating older people--hearing their opinions (whether I agree or not) that are formed by life's experiences and also admiring their gutsiness for "getting out there" and give it their all.

PPP here and thank you for your respectful reply. I have to admit, I'm a Democrat so I wouldn't agree with the message even if it had been delivered respectfully and succinctly. I'm just sad because I do respect Clint Eastwood as an actor and a director so I guess I always want him to appear to be a sort of superhero Dirty Harry. Not last night. No disrespect to older people in general. When I consider the alternative, I hope I'll be one of them.

If others saw him the way I did ("aw, look at that cute old grandpa, on the big ol' important stage, fumbling with his speech a bit, he's so lovable, etc.") and gives them a reason to consider voting for R/R, then it's a bad thing IMO.

Not such a good move for an actor to become a politicians mascot. But fine if your career is over. Other serious names need to be more cautious.
How will romney be better than obama, what are his plans, why no details?

I am a dem and will definitely be voting for Obama, but I did not think he was that bad. The problem for Romney is that that's all the media has been talking about. Not about the Romney speech or the video, but Eastwood. That was not good.
