She was wrong to yelll at you, but in my experience parents are very good at ignoring their own kids, and your toddler probably shrieked a lot and was more disruptive more than you realize. But I *AM* sorry you cried. That always sucks. |
THANKS!! |
Chipotle lady is ALSO psoriasis on my feet lady!!?!? |
Yes she is. I think she said so on the crime at her apartment thread. |
LOL! If I had to kill you I would have to kill myself as well. We all have our favorite posters for whatever reason; appalling behavior, sad situations, drama, etc. For instance, all the posts by Indian Lady with 1 year old daughter, cruddy husband, and controlling in-laws have my immediate attention. I so want her to get justice and tell everyone in her life off. |
The lady sounds like a jerk. You should feel sorry for her-- she probably goes through life that cranky. |
The world makes sense now! |
LOL oh yeah, my other "favorite" is the one who posts in the relationship forum every couple weeks about divorcing her unemployed drunk of a husband who spends all the money she earns on wine while sitting at home and working endlessly on a pointless dissertation that will lead to nowhere. |
It doesn't matter. That lady was TOTALLY out of line. And a bitch to boot. OP, where you went wrong was indulging her rant. Here's how it should have gone: tell her that you don't care what you think, turn away from her, and ignore. If she persists, you get management involved and say you are being harassed. Then do so. Done. |
Wow I thought I was the most frequent DCUM reader but I would have never caught the similarities in these posts in a hundred million years. PPs who did, I bow befor your powers of perception, and your encyclopedic knowledge of DCUM. That list of links seemes prettympersuasively from the same person. Seriously I'm impressed!! Now, do you think it's some goofy troll or not ? Is there really some strange sad person out there who's singing in Chipotle and constantly getting chastised by random strangers? |
Very similar thing happened to me when my son was 12 months old and I just ignored the bitch...people like this should stay home if they do not like the public (including babies). I sometimes get dirty looks as I have my 5 year old and 15 month old twins now, and it is not always possible for all 3 to behave like "angels" at once no matter what I do...kids are kids. Most people are nice and often tell me how cute they are and congratulate me...it is the occasional miserable asshole that is rude and they should stay home. Don't let this put a damper on your social life...ignore people like this. |
OP this happened to us recently as well. My then 17 month old shrieked a couple of times out of happiness, and the bitch in the next table came over, leaned across my son, and in my husband's face told him we had better keep him quiet because her partner was wearing a hearing aid and couldn't tolerate his misbehavior. She said it was inappropriate and we were at fault for bringing him to a family restaurant! We were so taken aback, I was actually speechless. My older daughter, who is very protective of her brother, burst into tears. And my husband told her to get laid (not his finest moment). The restaurant staff was so accommodating to us, one server even risked her own tip by apologizing for her table. It was so humiliating and I questioned my own mothering skills for a week. Now I just realize, there are some cranky old bitches in this world and not all of them are going to think my son is the bees' knees. lol |
Ok, so now comes the sockpupetting. |
This might make you feel better: http://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/hello-stranger-on-the-street-could-you-please-tell-me-how-to-take-care-of-my-baby#.UCz1I7-dD0E.twitter
It's about baby advice from strangers, but complaints from jerky strangers about your toddler's totally normal behavior/how you should parent isn't so far off... |
The lady was a bitch but on the other hand I'm sick of parents who can't control their 'spirited' (code for bratty & undisciplined) kids ruining my meals in a restaurant. If you can't control your kid, go home. |
