OP again. I just finished Flowertown by S. G. Redling (suggested by my kindle). It was a total page turner that got really thrilling towards the end. It's like Outbreak meets District 9 meets 24 with lots of conspiracy theory suspense.

Off the top of my head . . .

Fun, trashy romances:
Anything by Jennifer Crusie
Most of Susan Elizabeth Phillips books

Easy reads, light period mysteries, smart, quirky main characters:
The Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters
The Mary Russell series by Laurie King

Creepy, don't read when you're in the house alone at night:
John Connolly's Charlie Parker series

Murder mysteries with odd characters:
Carol O'Connell's Mallory series

I'm currently reading Nurture Shock

I'm currently reading State of Wonder by Ann Patchett. It's good, but not as good as Bel Canto.

I would so be up for a DCUM GoodReads.

The Passage by Justin Cronin
Excellent post apocalyptic dystopian read.

Please let me know what you think when you finish! Start a spin off spoiler alert thread. I thought it was ok while reading it, but once I finished I was less impressed. I'm wondering if I missed something.
