Please Explain: Uninsured Republicans?

Death Panels, is that what you call it when a group of insurance executives refuse to give you coverage, or refuse to cover your treatment, or decide to drop you because you are sick? That does indeed sound like a death panel to me.

Republicans believe everyone should hsve access to affordable insurance BUT are against the govt take over of the system. They are for purchasing insurance across state lines, allowing associations not just employers to create pools to purchase insurance and tax breaks to purchase insurance and subsIdies for the poor. Most rephblicans agree with some of obamacare such as the preexisting conditon change and age limit for kids but believe we can get those popular provisisons done without this powergrab of the health system.

If republicans really believed this they would have introduced their own affordable health care act. They controlled the house and senate during bush' reign. It's all talk from the repubs and no action.

Republicans carry their weight and their families weight. They don't expect their neighbor to change their diapers. They also contribute more to charity and volunteer more. That's why they have greater character and value to this great country.

They are also happier people according to polls. Higher educated as well.

Well, according to Paul Krugman, red states use up a disproportionate amount govt welfare funds. Also not surprising that people who are recipients of govt welfare don't recognize they are.

He's an idiot. Look at the picture of himself on his columns...he looks like he struggles with mental illness.

right, because 100% of the population in "red states" vote republican. its probably seeing such a large number in their states mooch off welfare that drove the rest of them to vote republican.

I am not republican, but I normally vote republican. I think the answer is that health reform should have been higher on the republican agenda but they never got around to it. they tried things like tort reform but got pushed back by the democrats. but basically, other than lowering the increase in costs, they didn't think it was broken. most people get coverage from their jobs. those that are poor or old are already covered. and for the rest, you can buy catastrophic coverage. that is the responsible thing to do. just like a responsible person buys life insurance and other forms of insurance. maybe not the best system, but the healthcare in this country is pretty good and the doctors are pretty smart. go wait in like at a social security office. work for the feds for a while, I interned at the EPA when I was in law school, it is disgusting the waste and lack of work ethic and no accountability. you REALLY want to turn healthcare over to something as incompetent as the govt?

Where's your Nobel Prize? Exactly.

You realize that the very poor and the old are covered only because the govt provides health coverage, right? BTW, healthcare in this country is terrible given how much we pay per capita. It's in line with other industrialized nations, IF you ave good health insurance, otherwise, all measurable stats indicate that US healthcare is inadequate.

What a compelling assessment of the guy. You think he looks shifty. I'm sure the Nobel Prize committee is getting ready to announce your name any day now.

If this is panty sniffer, I'd have to defer to your superior knowledge, based on a lifetime in a psych ward.

How will uninsured people (I imagine low wage hourly employees) afford insurance or a tax?

A Nobel prize never grew a capitalist economy...or any economy. Exactly. Economic Nobel prizes are a circle-jerk of fools.
