I know people hate these threads, but what is going around? Is the flu hitting early this year?

I know people who've had Lyme Disease who never remember having the bullseye rash.

There is some creepy crud going around with chills, and cough. DH came home from work with it and said he felt like he'd been hit by a truck. His coworker had GI symptoms with it as well, but fortunately DH has not.

OP here. Thx! This is very helpful. Sounds like it's going around. Still feel like I've been hit by a truck. To the poster who mentioned strep throat-I do have a sore throat, but it doesn't hurt to swallow. If I still feel this lousy Monday I'll get it all checked out. If I am getting a little better I will let it run it's course. Hoping it just lasts a few days like it did for one of the posters. Sorry to hear someone has already had this for 5 days!

Glad to see this thread. Our whole family has has some weird virus. No real GI problems, although DS had some very soft, alomost loose stool yesterday after coming off the virus the past two weeks. We have also had swollen glands primarily in the neck region but with minor sore throat. I took two of the kids to the doctor twice but informed both times it was just a virus. DH got the full virus and lost 10 lbs because he just had no desire to eat, then he got canker sores in his mouth, which made it impossible to eat. I got the lesser version of it with just swollen glands that lasted about a week, though my neck still feels slightly sore. I will also say that I think that it caused me to have inflammation everywhere because my ovaries felt sore as well and there was no other reason for them to be tender at that time. We have been commenting on just how odd, and creepy this virus has been. DD got a very strange infection in her hand with it that the doctors thought was herpetic, but then they ended up giving her three types of antibiotics to get rid of it. Unfortunately, I think these weird illnesses are a sign of things to come due to the superbugs.

OP here...wow some of you are bringing up symptoms I have but forgot to mention. I have swollen glands all over my neck and my gums feel inflammed the way they would with a sinus infection, but I'm not that congested. I fall asleep for a nap within a few minutes and when I wake up I'm still exhausted.
