Power to be restored Fri @ 11 pm - Pepco's default?

I think Friday night is their "this is the latest time by which you can expect to have power" default answer. I know they have said they hope to have 95% of power restored by then, so basically, it could be anytime between now and then.

We ended up getting it back late Sunday night. I think they are just trying to manage expectations and think people will be happy if it comes back before Friday.

Trying to make themselves look good (a futile endeavor) rather than providing useful information to customers. Classic Pepco - PR over substance.

When I check on the status for my house, I am informed that I have power, but on the map it looks like I don't have power. We have also not received that automated call saying we have power. So we are staying out of town until after 11pm on Friday.

Fwiw, we saw our first Pepco truck in our neighborhood (North Chevy Chase) last night. I asked the very nice Pepco worker when he thought we might be back - he said it was unlikely we'd be back before the end of the week. We were on our way to a hotel at the time anyway. At 2am the power came back on (we figured it out because the alarm company called to check.) I'm thrilled it was sooner than the worker expected, but I guess it just goes to show that even someone at the scene can't always give accurate predictions of how long the repairs will take. This is not a defense of Pepco as a company - I still HATE Pepco with a passion.

Ours says the same thing, but until today so did my grandparents house- they live 3 streets over and got power back saturday morning. The PEPCO map was just updated this morning to show that they have power, and our street is still showing "no crew assigned"... hoping it comes on soon... It is just way too hot for the baby.
