sounds high on the estimate.....what do you think?

Where are you getting your info from? Often people put vastly inflated costs on here and i am first to point that out but 8k for a new roof is a good if not great price. $2k wouldnt even nearly cover materials and other costs such as disposal of waste without even beginning to factor in labor costs for a roofing crew for three days.

Unless you can come up with something more specific to back up your ludicrous claims i'll assume you're a troll.

Oh come on. Those costs are plain wrong, but even if you took then at face value they don't include removal of old roof, guttering, flashing,.replacing rotten timber, cost of sola tubes and installation or many other parts of the job. Oh, plus flat rods most often aren't shingle. Mine wasn't.

Roofs not rods.

thanks for all the inputs. So far, I am getting estimates from 3 companies, only one estimate was given so far. I would definitely trying to get another two more estimates.

Any recommended roofers out there I can try to call?

Thanks

You can usually find them on craigslist, hire the workers of a rip off anglieslist listed company

I live in a row house community with a mix of flat and pitched roofs. We paid $3500 to have our pitched roof replaced last fall. (3 similar estimates) Neighbors who have had their flat roofs replaced have spent between $8-12k.
