Are you kidding???? The only reason anyone would consider living in Vienna is because they couldn't afford one of the nicer suburbs. |
Yes, the person must have been kidding but you're still an asshole for responding as you did. |
| I think the area along Hunter Mill and Vale is the nicest in the DC metro area, and that is Vienna. |
Haha. The only reason why people move to the suburbs is because they can't afford Spring Valley and Forest Hills. |
Yawn. |
I agree--that's a really nice area. Not sure if it's the most expensive but there are some massive houses out there. |
Quick, someone tell Ted Leonsis, Queen Noor, Dan Snyder et al that they are slumming it in Potomac. |
I'm sure Great Falls is more expensive, but I prefer the location of Vienna. And there are some RIDICULOUS houses along Vale and Hunter Mill. |
| Great Falls is not all expensive, definitely not per sq.ft of land. I know at least two families that are moving there as their second choice because they could not afford places closer by like Mclean or Arlington or Bethesda or didn't like what their money got them in closer-in burbs. Let's not make it look like it's only multimillionaires living there. |
The area you are describing has Vienna and Oakton addresses, but isn't in the Town of Vienna. It's similar to Fairfax Station. |

I was looking in Mclean/Falls Church/Arlington and it's very expensive and not even that nice. I cannot believe what people want for the little itty-bitty homes there, if I want to move to the burbs and willing to pay 700-800K I am expecting to get a normal size floor plan with a king size master bedroom and a normal size walk-in closet and a master bath. Most of the homes we looked at were worse than some apartments out there or row homes in DC, I am not even mentioning how dated all the finishes were. I don't know how it is in the other suburbs, we only looked at Arlington/Mclean/Falls Church and small dated homes under 2000 sq.ft on ok size lots (like .25 acre) cost upwards of 700 and even 800K. I can't imagine suburbs being more expensive. Same type of homes costing 1 mil?
|
| I would say Chevy Chase |
| I think it's probably Chevy Chase, but it's true what a PP suggested, that there are neighborhoods in DC that more expensive than any of the suburbs. |
Kevin Plank (Under Armour Founder), Mitch Rales, Ed Cohen and Adrienne Arsht think you're slumming it. Btw, Ted has a home in Georgetown and if you know anything about him you'll know he spends more time there than in MD. He even has DC plates on his car "Capital". |
Keep telling yourself that. |
