| 25-30 hours per week over $100k as a criminal defense attorney. I do work more if I have a jury trial coming up, but it is limited to some office time the weekend before the trial not weeks of 80 hours plus. |
| I make about $45K as a social worker working 30 hours a week in a non-stressful position. I don't see why a lawyer couldn't. |
Dude, she already said she's a lawyer... same difference. |
| I'd start full time (40 hours for $100k+) in a fed office, then try to reduce your hours. |
| Op here: I don't want to work in dc anymore...trying to simplify and cutting back on the commute would help. That's why I realize I will need to take a pay cut. |
If a lawyer is prostitution , this must be a lobbyist |
| I work 15 hrs a week and bring in over 50k. I own a tutoring business. I could work more hrs but choose not to. |
What do you do? |
Souls in Hell also want ice water. |
Thanks for the unexpected gaffaw. |
Okay, please tell me how to do this. Signed, Experienced transactional attorney in biglaw |

I make just under $100K working for a nonprofit and when I started, I had a 35-hour work week. We increased to a 40-hour week but I still get to work out at lunch most days, so I'm still technically working 35 hours. I could probably negotiate a more reduced schedule for less $ but can't afford to do so.
Consider non-profit work - if they can't afford to pay you for full-time or don't have 40 hours of work per week that needs doing, you could probably negotiate a deal. |
| I know someone who works about 15 hours/week and makes about 75k. He comes to work mostly to surf the web, have lunch with friends, play sports with colleagues and do non-work things. Never spends more than 5-6 hours in the office and is in the office 4 days/week. Only has a bachelors. |
Is he really supposed to be working 40 hours a week? |
| I'm a web editor/freelance writer. I work 25-28 hrs a week and make 50-60k a year. (It varies depending on my assignments.) |
