Even the Feds have done that in past 4th of Julys. It is the President's call. I've been with the Feds for 17 years and it has happened maybe once. |
OK, I've been with the Feds for 15 years and never once has this happened with the 4th. When Christmas falls on a Tuesday, the President typically grants a Federal holiday on Monday and when Christmas falls on a Thursday, the President typically grants Friday, but not once in 15 years have I seen this done with any other holiday. It could very well have been a decision made by your agency and not the President (ergo not every Fed would have benefitted from it), as I have seen that happen with agencies other than mine (e.g., giving off the day after Thanksgiving). |
