My DH just told me that I needed a personal trainer

While I haven't gained that much weight I do see that my legs are not toned and my rear side has increased. I was a bit peeved at him because he too needs to "get on the exercise circuit" as he told me. He works all the time, I SAH.

I'm peeved because he knows I've been a little depressed lately and seeing a therapist, while he hasn't asked how my therapy is going, he is quick to tell me to get in shape!

shit, OP

If he's willing to fork over the money, then go for it. My pal just paid over $500 for 10 sessions with a trainer.

I'd do it! Who cares what the motive is behind your husband's suggestion.

For me it's the other way around. I am a DW with an overweight DH. I need him to start taking his weight seriously. I have told him straight, that it's getting to be too MUCH. I am worried about his health. I have sent him to the doctor before who told him that if he continued packing on the lbs he'd get health issues. Yet, he continues NOT to work out!

I feel like I have tried everything I possibly could to help him get back to working out consistantly. I am nice about the way I tell him, however I am honest too, and I am starting to feel unattracted to him and sex is the least on my mind with him. Help ME be a better person!

OP, this one's easy:
1. No more ironing DH's clothes (everything can be dry cleaned for 99 cents);
2. Hire a personal trainer to get in the shape you want to be.

HA HA HA!! Joke, right?

So if I work and bring in just as much money, do you feel that I am more entitled to demand that DH looks more like Brad Pitt?

He's a jerk. But you must have already known that?

Have you tried working out with him? What do your meals at home look like?

the husband could have found a "nicer" way to suggest you hit the gym.

telling you to get a personal trainer was sort of low cause it assumes that you cant hit the gym on your own without some sort of motivation.

not sure what to tell you as a guy except that the approach your husband took was out of bounds

If you're fat, why are you wearing a bikini?

I'm 5'5'' 130lbs. not fat, at least not by my BMI. But I do carry my weight around my mid section and on my upper legs

to the Poster that said my mood would probably be better if I exercised, yes you are right. I just need to get motivated and nothing is more motivating than ones DH saying they need to hit the gym!

Then its time to give up the bikini for goodness sakes!

Of course he pays for everything. I just stay home, eat bon bons, get fat, do laundry, clean the house, 3 meals a day for the kids, make sure he has clean and ironed clothes to take on his business trips. Do all of his clothes and shoe shopping. Drive the kids to and from activities, volunteer at the school, sit on the as President of the Board of my very active HOA. Did I mention I sit home and eat bon bons and get fat

What do you do all day? Sounds like you need help organizing your day. OMG are you hungry again...is it time for second breakfast you little hobbit?

My husband said the same shit once and our therapist set him straight.

But really - hire a babysitter and get the hottest trainer that you can find. Also - I think you need a pool boy - he needs to be hot too - ask him what he thinks of your midsection and you ass(ets).

Skinny is so 80's. If you BMI is fine just exercise for your health and endorphines.

I am sorry your H is being an idiot.
