About 25 years ago my husband and I were invited to his secretary's wedding. We were the only white people there (and my DH -- fair skin, blue eyes and very WASPY-looking is perhaps the whitest man in America). The wedding band played a ton of Chuck Brown covers and everybody hit the dance floor. We still remember it as one of the best weddings we've ever been to. RIP, Chuck.

I dont really care for go-go music but I love Chuck Brown. Anyone remember that DC lottery commercial? Everytime that thing came on I had to get up and dance.

HA! The D.C. Rolling 5! I loved that commercial and it was like going to a short go-go.

DH and I went to a New Years event this year and Chuck Brown was the featured performer. I left the event saying that too much go go made my head hurt. But I'm sorry to here about the loss. RIP Mr Brown.

Anyone remember his album with Eva Cassidy? Another great singer who died way too young. It was jazz and amazing!

I'm white and grew up around here (and happen to love Chuck Brown). But I can totally believe this.
