| Yeah, actually. I do tip at Panera. Because I've been a barista, and I can. |
|
I'd want to know how the staff at Nando's are getting paid.
If they are paid above regular minimum wage ($7.25 now?) and tips are pooled, I'd tip like I do at Starbucks/Panera/other places where the staff is paid at least minimum wage and tips are pooled--that is, sporadically, without regard to percentage, and for exceptional service or if I'm feeling generous. I worked at Starbucks for 7 years and tips were great, but I never counted on them. If they are getting paid waiters wages ($2.15?) and do NOT pool tips, I'd tip 20%. I'm *guessing* they probably get at least the full minimum wage, but of course I have no idea how I'd confirm this, so it's a bit moot. |
| Actually I always tip if they bring my food - at the bakery or something, I just throw a couple bucks down. |
| They get paid at least $9 per hour |
| They are paid "non exempt hourly" according to the NandosPeriPeri website. |
| Ive never tipped at Nandos. But I first started going there in the UK, where tipping is often included. But, no, I don't tip at Panera, either. At District Taco, I drop a few dollars in the communal tip bowl at the register. I do tip (a smaller amount) at the Nordstrom Cafe, since they come back to check up on you and refill drinks and such. |
| What are they feeding them chickens coz they're really small! |
What? Who do you too? Order at counter, bus your own table. |
| I don't tip at the register. The server who brings the food gets 10%. |
| Actually the service at nandos is usually really good, everyone is nice and helpful, so I tip 15-20% like I would anywhere else. |
| How is the one in Gaithersburg? |
|
Former waitress here - I don't tip at counter service restaurants.
I had to work hard for $2 on a burger and iced tea served at table service for a party of 1. I don't really understand this trend of counter service employees expecting tips. Bartenders are excluded from my wrath.

| I have never tipped at nandos and I have visited locations aboard as well. I live a block from the one here and I have never tipped there. I think the tip on the receipt is just standard to their POS. |
| Now why did Nandos make it here and yet we still have no Wagamama?! |
