| Cap Hill to Bailey's crossroads. 10 mins to kids' school and then 20 mins to work. Against traffic. Coming home is less cool. |
| Downtown to downtown, eight blocks. I walk mostly (10 min), often stopping for coffee, shopping, or to pick up food. But there is also a bus that goes from my front door to my office door, so when I dont feel like walking, I just hitch a ride. |
| 19 min -- Falls Church to Old Town Alexandria |
I don't even do that. I just pull the laptop out of my nightstand drawer. I used to live a 10 minute walk, 3 minute drive from work. That was nice. I was also working at home part-time then... Free parking too. |
| 5 mins in am Bethesda to Bethesda. 10 mins in pm b/c old georgetown sucks. Same commute for 10 years (2 different companies) and decided that if I ever switch companies I will only work for another close by. Fortunately entire exec team live in or near Bethesda so zero chance of the office moving. |
| Reston to Reston. With stop to drop off kids at school and stop at Starbucks, under 20 min. Five minutes without the stops. |
| Ballston to downtown: 20 minutes seat to seat (sitting on sofa to sitting at desk). HOV surface roads before 8am. |
|
North Bethesda (Grosvenor-Strathmore) to Bethesda (across from BCC). About 15 minutes...worst part is the hideous NIH and Naval Medical crap on Wisconsin.
They ruined that commute for everyone! |
| 10 minute drive, 17 minute bike ride, 30 minute run, or 45 minute walk, depending on what I'm feeling like on any given day. Having options is great. |
| 5 minute walk for both me and my husband. We live and work on the Hill. |
When it snows, do you put yourself on a delayed schedule?
|
| So tell me again about the private school tuition bills ... |
|
Commute to Chinatown door to door:
10 minutes to drive 15 minutes for bus 20 minutes to walk 15-20 minutes for metro |
Don't have those. Our kids are in public schools. |

15 minutes Germantown to Rockville (Shady Grove area)
