OP, this video moves me every time I watch it. The wonderful Neil DeGrasse Tyson (astrophysicist) talking about the origin of the universe and our connection to it and each other. It's not too esoteric, I promise. Just really, really beautiful and worth watching. (about 3 minutes long)

^^This. You are very significant. Yes, this will be painful for all, but don't assume the scars will be permanent for your LO. My husband comes from a family with bitter divorce and if anything it has made him that much more attentive to the marriage and he has far surpassed his father in the parenting realm (which was easy to do). I've been through a lot of stressors in life and it really is true "This too shall pass." The pain will gradually get more manageable and you will get to the point where the pain is mostly gone except for the occasional temporary re-injury. I have also always found the cliche true that "after a terrible storm, the sun will shine and you will see a rainbow." May sound corny, but it's true. It sometimes takes a long time. Life can bring shitstorm after shitstorm, but I promise at some point the sun will shine and you will enjoy it that much more. I don't think I would appreciate all the good in my life as much if I hadn't faced some really hard times. Thinking of you OP and wishing you strength and happiness!! Vent away whenever you need too. |
