I know someone who only retrieved two eggs. Both were mature, fertilized and they transferred both. They now have twins. You just never know...
I also know someone who only had two eggs fertilize and although they transferred both, she had a BFN. The next time around they changed the protocol and she had many more eggs. Hang in there! |
| thinking poisitive thoughts for you OP! Keep us posted. |
OP here. Thanks all for your feedback. RE said I could either do 2 on day 3 or the best one on day 5. DH is very concerned about multiples, particularly for my health, and RE said he has no arson to think our odds of multiples have gone down if we do two. So we decided to wait and do one on day 5 (Thursday). Fingers crossed for Our Petrie dish babies who are 8 cells each today
I made DH make the call bcause I couldn't handle it. |
| I had several rounds of IVF and this was our last. We got 6 eggs, 5 were mature, 4 fertilized, 3 kept growing after PGD and ONE was a healthy normal embryo. And it stuck! I'm 8 weeks now. It really only does take one. Good luck to you OP!!! |
| Great news OP! what day did you have to decide? Day 2 or day 3? did the doctor call you to consult or did you go into the office? |
I am someone who fits the description in the second paragraph--got two eggs last time, both fertilized, transferred, and BFN. This time we changed the protocol and got many more eggs. The point is, your embryos don't know if they're in a batch of 2 or 10. The good one is a good one, no matter how many others developed with it. Of course the chances are higher with more eggs, but each one of those embryos can become a baby. Fingers crossed for you! |

OP I would reconsider, the odds of both taking are slim. I had 2 5 day blasts and got a BFN. If you freeze one, there's a good chance you will lose it in a thaw. I'd consider just transferring both.
On another cycle I had 2 transferred and both were grade A on day 3, and only one took. You never know. |
