Whats the diff between my pet sleeping on the bed and possibly a spouse who doesnt shower nightly before they go to bed? Seriously? At least the dog is laying on TOP of the covers and not on the sheets +100 to pets on the bed! |
I don't know about YOUR spouse, PP, but mine does not roll around in shit, nor does he walk around outside naked, collecting bits and pieces of leaves in his chest hair. But if yours does, I can see how your analogy makes perfect sense.

That baby pig is adorable. I didn't know they were so cute.
Even so - my bed is OFF LIMITS!

| I once read an article about William Wegman, the famous Weimeraner photographer. The interviewer wrote of touring Wegman's home, where the dogs were around everywhere, but he was somewhat surprised that there wasn't evidence of them on the bedspread, and mentioned it to Wegman. Wegman said, "that's because they sleep under the covers." At the time I wasn't a dog owner and the idea of a dog not only on the bed but under the covers grossed me out enough that I remember the article 20? years later. Once I fell in love with the sweetest puppy in the world, however, it didn't take long for her to make her way from sleeping in her crate, to being closed in the kitchen at night...oh, okay, to the bedroom floor, and then onto the bed. But not under the covers. That still grosses me out. As for pictures of dogs on the bed, if they look neat, short-haired, and clean, I don't find it off-putting, but if they are long haired and/or unkempt I do find myself thinking that I really wouldn't want that on my bed. Kind of like Ryan Gossling vs. Nick Nolte. |
