Zoe Saldana is pretty clearly of African descent...

She is Dominican and Puerto Rican.

Yep. And Dominican and Puerto Rican are nationalities, not races. I am American, but that doesn't tell you anything about my race.

I believe Zoe Saldana's mom is a mixed-race Puerto Rican woman and her father is a black Dominican.

I think PP is saying that most people assume she is African American and not a Black Latina.

Me! I have the generic ethnic look. I have been asked if I'm Russian, Iranian, Eastern European, Italian, and Jewish. It's weird because nobody ever guesses my real heritage which is hispanic!

My husband has been asked for directions in 3 seperate countries (Italy, Mexico, India)
He's AFA.
More surprise black people: Slash
Wentworth Miller, Carole Channing, Jesus (the whole hair of lambs wool gives it away)

Op here, any example really is fine. I was trying to figure out what is considered racially ambiguous and all of these have helped. I think there are probably racially ambiguous white celebrities as well.

So someone truly racially ambiguous is your husband....a person that we don't know? Yeah, thanks.

BTW, what does Jesus' "hair of lambs wool" give away, exactly?

African Americans are a "social group" within the black race. You can't tell who is AA just by looking at them.

I think PP is saying that most people assume she is African American and not a Black Latina.

Sorry...that didn't quote right. Should have read:

LOL I've never heard it put that way before!

I think the Jesus thing is saying he had "black" hair (as in the texture). But he kinda looked white. Therefore, racial ambiguity.

If the PP is making that point, it's unclear and also irrelevant to my previous post. I posted that she was of African descent, I said nothing about ethnicity.

What's black hair? Thanks to the raping of female slaves, black hair comes in all textures.

Pretty sure we all have black pupils. Seeing as how a pupil is a HOLE.

Jesse metcalf? He does not look racially ambiguous to me. Betty White was a joke, right?

I didn't know Jesus and American black slaves were contemporaneous.... Also, you are assuming "black" one refers to back Americans descended ends of slaves.
