OP here - thanks all for these suggestions. They ar egreat. I've now emailed the director twice and left two VMs and haven't heard back, even for a simple conversation (we also have an infant and are looking now for when he is 2). It's very discouraging. Am beginning to really get the argument of people on this board who are frustrated by putting money down for a waitlist and then never hear back.
