Progesterone suppositories - extreme TMI!!!

Ask for PIO. It hurts a little but you will def be getting the progesterone. As this is your last IVF cycle, I would ask for it.

I'm going to vote for the PIOs. The shots are not fun, but also not too bad, you really get used to it. Most nights it's just a little poke, sometimes you bleed and need a bandaid. I had at least a little dread each night but now that I'm weaning and using suppositories, I miss the fact that there was no mess. It's not clear that PIO is better than the suppositories, but it seems it gives you higher blood levels (the suppositories deliver progesterone directly so it can't always be measured in the bloodstream).

If not the PIOs, then I second the use of the PreSeed applicator to get it up there. I find that if I get it up there really far, I have less leaking.

Yes! I always used the applicators and didn’t have a problem. Bought a bunch from Amazon.

+1. I was on prometrium and got pregnant, but immediately started bleeding because my progesterone levels were SO low. It obviously wasn’t being absorbed. Once I switched to the PIO shots my levels went up immediately and I sustained the pregnancy.
