Fillers for Under Eyes

I have to say the results were fabulous in terms of evening out the bags/filling in the depression under the bags. The one problem is that I had significant bruising under one eye that took several weeks to resolve and I still have very slight uneven coloration there. The improvement was so dramatic, that I'm considering getting it done again once it fades, even at the risk of having to hide a bruise for several weeks. At about 2 mos. plus, the bag concealment is still working very well.

I do not recommend cultura/Dr. Battle at all.

Curious - why not and who would you recommend?

8:47 here. You're right, I mixed them up. Thanks.

I have heard this all around town. I heard he is an arrogant nut.

I go to someone great at Cultura, not Dr. Battle. Nothing but good things to say.

I had filler done for the hollowing out thing about a year and a half ago. When I went back for more filler in other areas three months ago, we decided I did not need more around the eyes. My doc says it stays longer in those areas. Don't know why. I definitely look less skeletal than I used to in that area.

Anyway, it worked for me and looked very natural. I go to Dale Isaacson on L ST NW. I think filler runs about $800 a vial. I'm usually having more than one thing done at a time, so I don't know whether having it just under your eyes would take more than one vial - I doubt it.

How much did it cost?

$300. They charge by the amount they inject though, so it would differ person by person. Still have a little bit of wrinkles under the eyes (not nearly as much though), and the wrinkles on the side are pretty much gone. It's only been a few weeks so I'll report back to let you know how long it lasts.

I went to the Dermatology Center in Bethesda based on this recommendation. Dysport is $390 (then a $50 rebate). Filler under the eyes was $1000. Laugh line filler was $600. They don't use Dysport for that.

Did you get any of it done? I am the PP who had Dysport done there. My Dysport was $300, plus a $50 rebate which I haven't received yet (about a month later).

I got the Dysport done for my 11s. I will probably get the laugh line done, but I thought their prices were really high. I'm still on the fence for under the eye.

11s are the vertical lines between your eyebrows.

My derm will not do fillers under the eyes at all. She recommends bleph.

There is very good reason why most responsible docs won't do this procedure. Head the warning signs, or don't complain.

Your safest and most effective bet is lower Blepharoplasty.

Lower Bleph is only good for bags. Under eye hollowing needs to be corrected with a fat transfer or filler.

Correct. Bleph and fillers are for opposite issues.

I paid about $800 per syringe for fillers. Most people need one syringe; my eyes took two. Sigh. The dermatologist said it should last 9-12 months (undereyes last longer than around the mouth, for example). I am happy with the results but the cost definitely took me aback.

Had mine done yesterday by Dr. Vikisha Fripp. She's a plastic surgeon. Results were amazing and the price was incredible.
