Where to buy jeans?

I'm with you nothing beats a good old pair of Levi's jeans.

I am a J Brand fanatic. They are expensive, but you can usually find them at Loehmann's, Neiman Marcus Last Call or Off Fifth. They fit beautifully.

1/15 16:47. The short Nordstrom poster here. In addition to the length I also had them taken in at the waist so I won't have that big gap in the back so when I bend over my crack won't show. I bought a pair of 7 for All Mankind and Paige. I work out a lot and I tend to build muscle. I general I am very stocky. 5'0" and 125. I can't wait to pick them up on Saturday.

If you have a Nordstrom's card, you get 100 in free alterations per year. A regular hem is free anyway but if you want them to put the jean hem back on it is extra as is the waist alteration.

How are the salespeople at Nordstrom's? Will they suggest cut and brands for me? I've been reading bad reviews for Denim Bar but I really need somebody to help me decide what looks good. Oh, and any specific Nordstrom's you would recommend?

Thanks

I've had good experience with Nordstroms, both Tysons and Pentagon City. Definitely helpful sales people.

I've tried other brands, and I also come back to Seven for All Mankind jeans. Love them. I've heard good things about Paige as well, but haven't tried them. I'm close to OP's size - 5'3", 125.

These, however - http://www.landsend.com/pp/StylePage-39953_A8.html?amp;CM_MERCH=REC-_-FPPP-_-GGT-_-2-_-39953-_-384801 - are mom jeans.

There is a Joe's Jeans outlet in Leesburg. They don't do returns so be sure you are 100% sold on what you buy. I love their jeans, BTW. I'm 5'8" and 135, wear a 29 which is about an 8, I think.

Stay away from Old Navy Jeans. It has spandex which makes the rear stretch out like crazy and droop.

Another poster here for Loehmann's, NM Studio, and Nordstrom's. But if I cannot find anything I like at any of those stores, I go to Bloomingdale's. Have had great luck with salespeople suggesting brands and cuts for me. I have patronized Denim Bar, but find the owner to be quite disrepectful of his staff. I really don't like giving my money to a bad business owner.
