Not My Kid

Sometimes the parents do try to get help but don't have the money to afford the doctors/treatments. Also, how do you expect these parents to deal with this problem? Social Services? I think it's pretty stupid of you to assume the parents aren't do all they can. Resources can be limited and I've known parents who beg the courts to take their children with no luck. Social Services isn't exactly capable of offering any support.

I don't understand the point of this post. Do you think the parents are going to read it, realize it's about them, and see the error of their ways?

Maybe, just maybe one parent will read it before it gets as out of hand as the family (yup, many siblings) mentioned in the post.

Why is OP out of line? Is s/he the one not doing something about her/his own children? Or are there habitual offenders (from the same family) mentioned in the post? If OP's children were habitual offenders, OP would not have the balls to be posting here. OP is not claiming that his/her family is perfect, just that certain children so clearly unfit for society should be tended to in a reasonable manner. Is jail their only option? Seems a damn shame if that is the case. Do the parents think they are above the law? That would be even worse!

I suppose any defensiveness comes from those who indeed subscribe to "not my kid". Interesting, but not so interesting for the innocent victims (including the young perps who grow into old perps) involved. Excuses are their worst enemy.
