No, only DC daycares take DC vouchers, and MD daycares take MD vouchers. |

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF VOUCHERS
Why are there so many child care centers that do not take vouchers? Can I assure my potential center that the voucher is good and they will be paid in a timely manner? Why do centers treat voucher recipients like less than worthy parents? Please tell me why in this economy we are looked at like 2nd class citizens, undesirable of a slot for our child? |

Because most places want you to pay up front so it's sometimes an inconvience to get paid at the end of the month. Even tho they had changed it to every two weeks and have direct Deposit. |

| You could try the Edward C. Mazique Center at 13th and Riggs NW. They have other locations around U Street. My son is there because he has a disability, even though we are not low-income. It is an Early Head Start program. The vast majority of the kids are from low-income families. They have a few slots for kids with disabilities. I have been very happy with the care. The bureaucracy gets frustrating, but you probably have dealt with that elsewhere. The number is 202-462-3375. |

Family of 4 can make a maximum of $55125 & still qualify for a voucher. Your co-payment would be $13.08 a day or about $260/month. |
