(Definitely go for a non-jiggle top if you are going to spend the money - makes a HUGE difference)
You can cook so many things. I've never had good luck with a slow cooker, I always forget to turn it on, or the food gets too dried out if I leave it on while I'm at work. With the pressure cooker I still can eat beef stew or pulled pork on a week day. It's lightening fast for veggies too. I don't think I could live without mine. |
I use 1 1/4 cup water to 1 cup of washed and drained basmati rice (I wash the rice thoroughly until water runs clear). Place rice in boiling water in the pressure cooker. Close the lid and cook for about 3 minutes under full pressure. Cool down the pressure cooker quickly by placing it under running water, ensuring that water is falling away from the steam vent. Open the pressure cooker and fluff the rice with a fork. Rice turns out as fluffy as cooked with rice cooker or stove top method. |
| Yes, I am Pakistani and use mine all the time. I only cook Pakistani food in it though. Daals, Lentils, Chicken Curry, Lamb Curry. It cooks lamb in about 15 minutes....it would take about an hour if I was simmering it. I have never cooked American food in my pressure cooker but the one I bought came with a recipie book so I am sure there are a lot of options. |
