8 oz = 200mg. I would often drink tea or even a random soda, 12 oz = 40-50mg. On days when I felt I need more than a single cup of something to wake me up, I would just drink a few cups of Earl Grey.
Or you can go half caff at Starbucks. |

I brew half-caf at home and occasionally drink a soda. At 12 weeks, the nausea has returned with a vengeance. I've been sipping a soda in the morning to deal with it. If want more coffee later in the day, I drink decaf only.
I keep it at or under the 200mg/day. |
I partly attribute my lack of constipation to my AM cup of coffee and yogurt. |
| I wouldn't risk drinking coffee, personally. |
Any citations that one cup of coffee is a risk would be great. Otherwise you might as well say, "I wouldn't risk eating an apple." OR "I wouldn't risk going outside." I've seen nothing that says a morning cup of coffee does pregnancy any harm. And I'm not a coffee drinker, I just don't like needless myths or fears to be going around. It is amazing to me that women have been having babies for how many years now with all this hand-wringing. |
