How did you react when you found out you were having a baby of the unpreferred sex

I wanted a boy. We're having a girl. I too felt guilty that I was upset about it. I'm glad we found out at the 20 week sonogram though so I had time to get over it. I think it would have been hard to deal with those feelings in the chaos of having a new baby.

Settle on a boy name and girl name before your sono -- this way, you will walk out of the room having had a look at the new person who will shortly join your family and you can start bonding immediately. We did this for baby #1 and I was prepared to do it again for baby #2 to address the concerns I had similar to yours. I already had a boy and was secretly hoping for a girl. When the sono indicated another boy, my husband and I looked at eachother and said, "hello NAME!" It really helped me get excited about having another boy.
