Any In-home daycares in Takoma Park or Silver Spring with openings?

She has openings for infants (I didn't ask for anyone older), but all of her kids are moving into a bigger center in December. Well she hopes to move in December, but she is still waiting to get the license from the city. When she moves she will be able to care for 25 kids! At the home daycare she is charging $300/week, no meal provided. I don't know what the rate wil be at the new center, but I do know that meals will be provided there.

Just FYI, she told me last April that they would be moving in May 2011, and that she would call me when the facility expanded. Needless to say, I never heard back from her and I subsequently put my son elsewhere. Maybe the licensing didn't come through then, but I would not hold my breath for this.

I second the recommendation for Fanta. My daughter went to her daycare for three years until she started preschool this Fall.

We don't have our kids at Marisol's, but we have used her for drop-in days (even a summer week on 2 occasions) in the past, as we live right around the corner from her on 7th Street. She really is fantastic, has a ton of experience w/ early childhood education including educating kids w/ disabilities, and she has at least one child enrolled w/ significant MR/delays and she is incredible w/ him ... as are the ladies who work with her, all incredibly kind, warm, comforting, etc. From all accounts and what I've seen, the kids love it there (we know many of them and again, have used her for drop in care). But, they are *very* crowded right now. I think it will be wonderful when their new location opens. Also, FWIW, she has historically served a lovely, healthy breakfast (i.e. yogurt w/ fresh blueberries, bagels w/ cream cheese), but you have to bring lunch and any other snacks. Not sure if that will change at the new place.

This is the immediate PP again. Forgot to mention that one of the 2.5 yos just left to go to preschool w/ my DD this week (week of Nov. 8) so I think the above PP is right, she probably has a new opening for a 18 mo - 3 yo.
